WeChat and the Ministry of Education jointly announced that Tencent WeChat will support 40 teaching contents and curriculum construction projects. With WeChat official platform and WeChat application development technology as carriers, application can be filed for two types of projects, including WeChat technology basic curriculum development and WeChat application development practical curriculum construction. At the first phase, Tencent WeChat will provide more than RMB 2 million to fund the curriculum reform; besides, it will also provide official technical support and counseling, as well as supporting resources such as Tencent Cloud.
WeChat basic curriculum development primarily targets at the development of Web application technology and aims to develop or transform related technologies by virtue of departmental professional teaching and support provided by Tencent WeChat. However, WeChat application development practical curriculum construction focuses on improving students’ engineering practice ability and aims to build or transform a series of WeChat application development combat based on real application cases and Internet product development model.

WeChat launched the first teacher training and course seminar, cultivating a team of teachers under integration of industry and education
From April 21 to 22, WeChat, together with the Advisory Committee of Software Engineering Specialty in Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, launched the National Collegiate WeChat Mini Program Series Curriculum Teaching Seminar, so as to promote the construction of the collegiate curriculum system and curriculum content and deepen the integration of industry and education and share teaching experience in the context of new engineering construction.
Hundreds of relevant departmental heads and teachers from 48 colleges and universities including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University and Nankai University attended the seminar. In the seminar, WeChat team introduced the concept and development technology of WeChat mini program product in depth. Expert lecturers explained in detail the basic introduction and whole-stack application of min-program development, and carried out enthusiastic teaching research on the teaching program, curriculum case and teaching implementation process experience etc. of WeChat mini program.
Moreover, WeChat team will also set up two awards, respectively “Distinguished Contribution Award for Tencent WeChat Industry-Academia Cooperation and Education of the Ministry of Education” and “Excellent Mini Program Demonstration Curriculum”, to reward benchmarking teachers and excellent courses who made outstanding contributions to this discipline construction. On March 30, the China Collegiate Computing Contest 2018- WeChat Mini Program Application Development Contest was officially launched, providing a broad stage for the innovative practice of collegiate students.
