Tencent WeChat launches the WeChat Tech Power worldwide so as to strengthen cooperation with colleges and universities in scientific research and provide users with better services. Tencent WeChat works to collect excellent programs and carry out researches based on the joint efforts of colleges and universities and enterprises in terms of information technology and frontier areas of the internet, encompassing as diverse as image recognition, speech recognition, semantic analysis, artificial intelligence, recommendation algorithm, search algorithm, background architecture technology, network transmission technology and machine reading, etc. Technical influence research funding program has involved many famous universities (such as, MIT, Stanford University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University and Peking University, etc) at home and abroad since 2017 in the joint research programs and produced strong technical results. Date of Machine Reading Analysis Application:

March 31, 2018: application deadline, beginning of review

April 31, 2018: completion of review, team communication

May 31, 2018: signing agreement, launching projects

August 2018: intermediate inspection, report submission

January 2019: project conclusion, final project report submission

Conditions and Methods for Declaration: Projects shall be declared in the name of universities, colleges or majors and designated teachers. Key searches direction of WeChat 2018 will be given top priority. 

Application: Project application should be in the name of universities or colleges. Person in charge of the project should fill the 2018 Tencent WeChat Industry-Academia Cooperation Construction Project Declaration. The declaration should be attached with official seals of colleges and sent to wechatedu@Tencent.com in the electronic document format of PDF(Ways of Naming: name of school_ education cooperation_name of main principal_name of project_WeChat technical influence.pdf) before 24:00 on March 31, 2018. The subject of the email should be “name of school_ education cooperation_name of main principal_name of project_WeChat technical influence”.

Review: The review committee of projects will select declared projects and determine the amount of funding. Initiation of Project: Projects once approved will be synchronized with approved colleges  and universities in terms of information and officially set up after signing the agreements with applicants. Construction items of the project shall be finished within the period specified in the agreement. Medium-term: Project leader submits the Interim Report of the Project to make project phase reporting. Project Closing: After completion, project leader should submit the Final Project Report and carry project promotion.
