In 2018, Tencent WeChat business group plans to provide technology, platform, resources, fund, industry experience, etc. in its WeChat official platform and in the field of WeChat application development technology, together with collegiate experts and teachers to jointly explore the education reform of in-depth integration of industry and academia, make contribution to the transcendental development of talent training in higher education, and support talent training in colleges and universities and professional comprehensive reform. The relevant specific description and application guide are as follows:

 I.  Construction goal

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, carry out the industry-academia cooperation and education project with focus on the teaching content and curriculum system reform projects. In response to the requirements of computer software talent training in the new economic period, with the WeChat official platform and WeChat application development technology as the carrier, carry out school-enterprise cooperation to jointly build curriculum and develop tutorials, and cooperate in training of training faculty, forming a campus WeChat technology ecological environment to support college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship training and promote the close combination of talent cultivation with industrial demand.

II.  Project contents

Teaching content and curriculum system reform projects

Type A project: WeChat technology basic curriculum development

For the development of Web application technology, utilize WeChat official platform and WeChat application development technology as carriers to develop or transform related technical basic curriculum by combining with departmental professional teaching and the support provided by Tencent WeChat. Explore the continuous development mechanism of curriculum system and content update, build teaching cases and curriculum resources, and encourage the preparation and publication of course materials.

Type B project: WeChat application development practical curriculum construction

Focus on improving students’ ability of engineering practice, and build or transform a series of WeChat application development practical curriculum based on real application cases and Internet product research and development model.

Include the established curriculum into the relevant practice or training links of the school, and establish an online practice platform based on cloud service.

III.   Qualifications for declaration

Some experience in corresponding curriculum construction and teaching is required, together with specific curriculum direction, to form teaching reform program with referential and practical value. Please specify that the program will be public and shareable. And the educational reform program shall include complete curriculum development materials, not limited to publication of educational reform papers.

The achievement shall include two parts, i.e. curriculum content and supporting teaching case. The qualified institutions can produce MOOC curriculum and publish it on the mainstream platform to form complete project construction content.

When offering such a course, colleges and universities can choose to open a new course, or transform and redesign it in combination with existing courses. It can be a compulsory course for students of relevant majors, a universal elective course for all students, or a short-term training course combined with practice.

If the declared curriculum is transformed based on the existing curriculum, then the curriculum shall have been opened for at least 2 years. Curriculum declaration without course basic will not be accepted. The class period of the declared curriculum shall not be less than 32 hours, with an average of no less than one class per year.

If the declared curriculum is a newly introduced curriculum based on this project, then its class period shall not be less than 32 hours and its students shall not be less than 80.

Under the same conditions, priority will be given to the curriculum declaration with a larger benefit range.

IV.  Construction requirements

1.  Construction requirements for Type A project:

（1）Curriculum outline: including time allocation, chapters, experiments, exercises description of specific curriculum;

（2）Teacher’s teaching plan: PPT courseware shall provide for each chapter. Curriculum-related bibliographies, paper references, network resources, etc. shall also be provided;

（3）Typical teaching cases: No less than 2 typical teaching cases around the teaching content of the curriculum shall be developed;

（4）Exercises: According to the teaching content and progress, each chapter shall be with corresponding exercises and reference answers;

（5）Curriculum experiment: Description and steps of experiments;

（6）Please clearly indicate that it is public and shareable.

2.  Construction requirements for Type B project:

（1） Curriculum outline: including time allocation, chapters, experiments, exercises description, supporting teaching plan, courseware etc. of specific curriculum;

（2）Cases, learning plans, operation requirements, and review criteria based on real application environments shall be developed. If there is source code, please provide the file of source code.

（3） Please clearly indicate that it is public and shareable.

Tencent WeChat business group does not own any intellectual property rights for the results of the curriculum developed. All curriculum resources supported by the project are required to be shared and updated on the official website of Tencent WeChat and the school, and can be used freely by all other schools to promote the sharing of teaching resources.

The qualified institutions and teachers are encouraged to produce MOOC curriculum simultaneously and publish it on the mainstream online education platform freely.

V.  Supporting methods

It plans to support no more than 40 teaching contents and curriculum construction projects, with the construction period as one year from the date of project setting up.

1. Funding: Tencent WeChat business group plans to offer a funding of RMB 30,000-50,000 for each curriculum project and education reform project, with the specific amount subject to the actual application and approval.

The amount of support for funding is to be determined through expert review. The amount of funding for a single project is between RMB 30,000-50,000, and the number of projects funded is no more than 40, with a total amount of no more than RMB 1.5 million.

After the project is approved, 60% of the funding will be paid in advance; and the remaining 40% of the funding will be paid after passing acceptance.

At the end of all projects, no more than 10 excellent curriculum projects will be selected, and RMB 50,000/project will be awarded and no more than 5 excellent MOOC curriculum projects will be selected, and RMB 50,000/project will be awarded. The two awards are not conflicted and can be re-presented. The details of the review standards shall be otherwise released;

2. Tencent WeChat business group will provide all necessary support for the project. Within the one-year period of the project, the two parties will maintain a two-way communication and exchanges to promote the smooth progress of construction projects.

Provide official technical guidance and training resources, and regularly organize large-scale practical training;

For training courses, provide project needs and corporate mentoring in a real business environment;

Provide necessary development resources, one-stop online practice platform for Tencent cloud service;

Provide official communication, technical guidance and financing guidance etc. for outstanding projects occurred in the process.

Provide special support for the curriculum reform and practice for colleges and universities in western regions, with supporting projects no less than 2;

3. By the end of the projects, carry out project review to summarize projects, consolidate the construction results, and prepare for the public sharing of construction results.

 VI.  Application methods

1. The applicants shall fill in the Declaration Form for 2018 Industry-Academia Cooperation and Education Project of Tencent WeChat Business Group and the Ministry of Education.

3. Tencent WeChat business group will organize experts to review the projects before the end of June 2018, and announce the list of selected projects.

4. Tencent WeChat business group will sign a project agreement with the school which the main project leader belongs to. The project period is one year, and all work shall be completed within one year after the signing of the project agreement. The project leader shall submit the final report, and Tencent WeChat business group will check and accept the project.
